Tarptautinis konkuras. Tamsiuoju gamtinio meto laiku, bei kartais žmogiškų vertybių ir politikos sutemose, meno kūriniu kviečiama patikėti grožio pergale. EN 1.Cityscape and Masterplan In order to revealGenius loci we look up to unique natural and urban situation and refer to MKČ creation. Because of dual urban relation when the proposed object has a relation both with the Old Town and the industrial territory, the decisionis the form which, by its volume, fulfills competition requirements being close to big volumed objectsof the neighbourhood. However, the expression is through light, fragile and bright structure which staying original acts as a junction to historical old Town‘s and natural structures. Methaforically it is like a painting stroke-string forest, which by mimicking the line of relief creates the easily uplifting musical impression. Hence there are reflected main MKČ symphonic motives ofsea and forest. The building is constructed using a principle of diorama. It also creates a distinctive story of the world. In the whole masterplan and vertical and spatial composition the form of a bowabstractly dominates and invites to a fairy-taled harmony of sun and moon, light and darkness, sound and silence. 2.Architectural quality In creating architectural quality, the philosophical and emotional volume is emphasized. This volume with its inspirational form is revealed for public and humanist experience. Space in this case is public and accessible to all. The technical requirements are fully fullflled according to programme but they are hiden behind this semantic volume. Both principles of contrast and nuance are used to reach architectural quality. Every little detail of frailty come together to the entrance hall‘s main accent – the sphere, which opens the flamboyant amber glowing world to be understood by living through genius heritage of MKČ. The human format of creation of MKČ takes us emotionaly to the our inner vast cosmos. 3.Another aspect of architectural quality is the object‘s openness to all sides hence the object is basically the concentered concentration of directions: all coming in directions lead to the sphere of the Main Hall. The Hall is the last superstar of Čiurlionis painting (REX, 1909). The zoning leads an important role in this project. Every zone is independent and at the same time interdependent. It is The functional zoning is clear. The special place is two leveled outdoor space: one of them is amphiteatric (park amphiteatre) and the other one ir terraced (roof). 4.The Major and minor halls both have the ability to open themselves to the landscapes. The minor hall is called the Moon Hall and it opens to the Old Town. The Major Hall isgiven a name of The Hall of The Sun can be opened to Nemunas and gain diluted light through roof‘s žaliuzės. Two moods – day and night. It is created by natural and artificial lighting. The entrances have the space that can get even the winter insolation. This light even reachesthe halls and it broadens the emotional tools of mood programming. The acoustic quality is to be reached by designing air gap in the walls of the halls. The three levels of balconies in the Hall of the Sun also are a sound absorbing structure. They are planned to be decorated with the toned glass and acoustic film composite. Such composite is to be used in wall decorating along with black velvet. Pine wood is to be used as planes, reflecting the soung from the top of the halls. 5. Usability The proposed Concert centrecontains two car parks – the underground garage for 264 cars (11 cars for disabled people) and outdoor car park for 190 (8 cars for disabled). The vehicle amount is boosted because of the purpose to reserve 20 vacancies for VIP and taxi cars in the Minkovskių street in front of the main entrance. The underground parking contains four drive-in ways: two for the visitor cars (also one additional drive-out) and two for heavy transport delivering cargos. The Centre is designed infivelevels. The two main levels are the first floor and the second floor. There are five entrances to the first floor: three for the visitors, one for the administration and performers and workers, and one for the conference centre staff. The underground and main levels are crossed bysixmain junctions. Four of them (one flight of stairs, two staircases with elevators and one panoramic elevator) are designed for the visitors of the Centre. Other two are designed for back-of-house operations. The administration and conference centre are organized in the first floor. Food and beverages complex is organized in two main floors around the elevator. The kitchen is designed in the second floor and serves a restaurant and and two cafe‘s within it. The food is also delivered via elevator to the hall of the conference centre in the first floor during conferences and other events such as opening of an exibition. Backstage is in the first floor, service spaces are planned in first-third floors.
